Is handing the device over in person an option?

Yes, though posting is what most people across Buckinghamshire choose. What else should go in the box?

Include the drive itself, whatever leads or caddy pieces came with it, and a printed shipping form. A NAS can travel whole; a server or RAID enclosure should not — send only its disks, and write the bay number on each. Encrypted device? Note the password or recovery key on the form. Power adaptors stay at home unless we ask.
