Stony Stratford is a town of 7,872 people at the 2021 census, with a town council of its own under Milton Keynes City Council, a unitary that has held city status since 2022. Watling Street runs straight through it as London Road, High Street and Towcester Road, and the wide High Street is lined with eighteenth-century buildings — the fire of 1742 is why so little of it is older. The modern A5 was moved off that street late in the twentieth century, and the A5, A422 and A508 now meet about a mile north at Old Stratford, over the Great Ouse in Northamptonshire. Usually. Pull the recorder's power lead out first, then lift its disk out and post that by itself — the box around it tells us nothing. Recorder work is £400 + VAT. A session is a handful of very large files, and a tool that rewrites the file table makes them much harder to find afterwards. Unplug it, box it, post it. We image it read-only and send a file list before a penny is charged.
